Hey, so there is lots of people using this forum, engineeres and potential engineers.
Here is what I know.
Australian Engineering week is running from the 4th of August to the 10th. That's tomorrow.
Engineers Australia, https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/, is Australias largest online site for engineering and is holding events.
They are also the peak accrediting body with in Australia for graduate engineers.
Women in engineering is less than men by a substantial ammount so there is always a push to get more women engineers. Find out current news for women here> http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/women-engineering.
And stories of inspiration of women in engineering here http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/shado/Learned%20Groups/Interest%20Groups/Women%20in%20Engineering/WIE%20stories%20of%20inspiration.pdf
Engineering is based around the sciences, such as maths, physics and fundemental apllication of those subjects.
As an engineer you have responsibility, leadership, a proffesional skill set, problem solving skills, and soft skills such as report writing, communication and interpersonal skills which can be applied in many fields of employment, not just engineering.
You can also travel with your job, if graduating in many countries due to agreement of accreditation, such as the the Washington Accord signed by 16 countries I think, found http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/membership/international-accords and https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/shado/Education/Program%20Accreditation/Masters%20Guidelines%20-%20Approved.pdf.
It's accredited see https://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/sites/default/files/shado/Education/Program%20Accreditation/Masters%20Guidelines%20-%20Approved.pdf
And also you have a broad range of fields you can enter such as project management, chemical or envrionmental engineering, sustainable engineering and more, see here> http://www.engineersaustralia.org.au/professional-development/what-engineering.

This site is a forum. Thus sharing, and discussing is allowed as far as I know. Secondly, I shared with the community the same as you have with the friendship link post you created or ship post Melody created. Lastly, it is important because it can promote the application of maths and sciences in a proffessional setting in an industry that might inspire people to learn the subjects with which they bring their questions here from more deeply. Oh, also as a young engineer in the making I felt it was worth sharing and without reason but if you'd like why it is because I want to promote something I'm developing a real passion for, which also includes Maths and Physics. Does it answer your confusion?
