There are a lot of people making posts who have not gone through the formalities of becoming a member.

There are some big benefits to joining up.

1) It is a little easier to make a post.
2) You can add attachments. I don't think that you can do that if you are not a member. I use attachments all the time. I'd feel like a cripple if I couldn't do that.
3) Once you have made a post you can edit it if you are a member. I edit my post all the time. I would hate not to be able to do that.
4) You can also delete your post so long as no-one has answered you yet.
5) No-one else can use your username
6) We can tell if you are or are not a member. If time is very limited, members will be given priority.
7) You can send and receive private messages to and from other people and make real friends. I know that I have.

We would really like you to formally join our community.
Please, join up today.

If you can become a member, you have more benefits. These are the benefits:

1: You can chat with people or send private messages and make friends.

2: You can delete your question if no one answered your question.

3: You can't get confused with the username Anonymous, and you can make your own and no one will use your username.

4: You can edit your post.

5: You can make an easier post.

6: You can add attachments.

7: We can recognize you if you are a member or not. If you're not a member, you have to write the same thing again.

8: You can be in the top answers list.

NEW MEMBER INFORMATION

Welcome to web2.0calc. forum.
We hope that you find our forum very useful and that you like it here. (It is your forum too now)

Some hints on how to get the most out of the forum:
When you ask a question make sure it really makes sense and cannot be misinterpreted.
Make good use of the preview button.
Also try to be interactive with the person/people who are trying to help you. You will learn better that way and we will learn to improve our teaching techniques.
If you don't understand tell us.
If you are happy then say thank you.
Take a little time to read our information posts, you may learn some things that save you a lot of time in the longer term.
There is also a search function that works quite well.

If you want to answer questions you are very encouraged to do so. If you are not sure of the answer then say so but you can answer anyway.
Please do not give answers only. You have to explain how you get to the answer otherwise the asker will not learn anything.
You do not need to answer in full, you can just give a hint if you want to.
OR you can add your question to the original question if you want even more explained.

The forum belongs to all of us. Treat it and the people in it with respect and enjoy yourself.

PRIVATE MESSAGES
There is a private message centre here. You can find it by left clicking on your username. Then just click into the message centre.
If you go into the user control panel then Board Preferences (at the top of the message page), you can get a pop-up display for new messages, that is if you wish to do so.
If you send a message it will sit in your outbox until the recipient opens it. In the mean time you can edit it or delete it if you wish. It only moves to sent mail after the recipient opens it. If you delete the message the recipient will still get a message but it will just say 'message deleted before delivery' It is a really cool system. I wish my usual email worked this way.

Thanks

Some of the info might be a little outdated but there still should be lots of useful things in here.

You should look at "information for new people."

I think it got cleaned up more recently.

I really should clean up all the sticky notes but there are only so many hours in a day.

You can even check your old posts. Sometimes, you want to check your post and you can't find it because you're an Anonymous person. So if you register, you can check your old posts by clicking User Control Panel on your user, and then click user's posts! Or, you can write in the search space and write by: and then write your username! It is simple as that.

We all hope that you register today!

It wasn't me dragon.

I complemented you on your post.  Why would i then punish you.  That would not make any sense!

I have an idea.  You asked if you could help.  This post is out of date plus i can't edit the early posts because they belong to the old forum and they can't be edited any more.

Would you like to try updating it for us?  You will have to think about how to do this.  Maybe talk to Ninja.  He is doing a really good job with 2 other threads.  He may even help you with the 'look'.  The forum will look more professional if these information threads have a similar look about them.

If you don't want to do this or it becomes too difficult then don't worry about it.  It is just a thought.

By the way, I know that you greet people with private messages when they join.  I really like this.  Thank you.

I like using anonymous since no one would hate me if I accidentally gave a wrong answer.

Hmm... this is the account that I've decided to try out. My problem right now is that I can't see what questions I or other members have answerd from the profile page.

Yes Zectico, you can see which one you have answered.

On the left hand side of your profile page there is a "search users posts" tab.

Also, in  the search box on the normal forum page.  you can type in

by:zectico               and all you posts will be thrown up :)

You used the wrong version of 'to'.

You used ' too' as in too much

You should have used 'to' as in to do something
