Aha...."Route" 666 ......!!!!  I knew you were "evil," reinout !!!

For the uninitiated, the image is a parody on "Route 66," a famous US highway used by many  who migrated to California looking for work during the 1930s Great Depression. The road is immortalized in John Steinbeck's classic work, "Grapes of Wrath."

P.S.  - There's nohing inherently "evil" about the number "666".......it's not any more or less "evil" than any other number......

If you're old enough you might even remember a TV series called Route 66 (starring George Maharis, I think)! Its theme tune was a big hit.

Yep, Alan......the adventures of "Tod" and "Buz" ...I used to think that Corvette they traveled around in was pretty cool......(gawd....I'm dating myself  !! )

P.S.  ....funny trivia......"Tod" and "Buz" rarely EVER traveled on "Route 66" during the show......!!!

Well....at least I don't have any memories of "The Great Depression"   ...!!!

Haha actually I was not referring to that.

In the book of revelations the number 666 is considered 'the mark of the beast'.

That's the reason 666 is considered evil whereas 777 is considered it's counterpart (777 is related to the 7th rest day).

Just like 11 is connected to craziness and 13 to bad luck 666 is often connected to evil.

Now I am curious how you guys went from 666 to route 66?

Reinout

p.s. The final episode of 'route 66' aired in 1964 so I don't think there are many people at this forum that know the series

Here's the number of  "The Beast"

1-800-666-6666

Note: ..... It is a toll-free call......!!!  ...... you still may have a "devil of a time" getting through, though !!

Those d**n aussies!

Melody! Explain yourself!

Why on earth did you guys have to choose 999 instead of 666?

Is it because you're on the upside-down part of the earth?

BTW, this is actually quite funny;

Haha fair enough.

I think I'm going to do this more often.

This 'begin of the day unwrap'.

I think it's funny to start 'my' day of with a joke when Melody ends his day one or two hours later and there's no better way to start your day than with a little humour.

Another interesting thing....note the sum of the first six Roman Numeral symbols

I + V + X + L + C + M  =

1 + 5 + 10 + 50 + 100 + 500 =  "666"

Also...it's the sum of the first 36 positive integers

(36 * 37) /  2   =  "666"
