Hey Melody,

I know this is A LONG time ago.

But since you didn't get a response... In UK we have BIDMAS instead of BODMAS.

B:  Brackets

I: Indices

D: Division

M: Multiplication

A: Addition

S: Substraction

Firstly what is bidmas? Do you mean BODMAS ? If you mean bidmas please tell me what the i stands for?

BODMAS stands for
Brackets then
of (as in power of) then
division and multiplication equally important just work left to right then
addition and subtraction equally important just work left to right

Your first question is so easy that I am sure you can do it yourself. Just try putting the brackets in different places until it works.

The second one is a bit tricky. What i will tell you is that it is not 4 squared. There is only one place that you can put the first brackets to change this. There will be 2 sets of brackets altogether.

good luck. Happy puzzling

Thanks MG. I didn't know that.  BIDMAS makes a lot more sense than BODMAS.

Just proves that you Brits do do some things better. :)
