The velocity is given  by the first derivative of the position function.....so......

s '( t)   =  1 - 2t

s' (1)  =  1 -2(1)  = -1 cm/s

s '(3)  = 1- 2(3)  = -5 cm/s

The acceleration is given by the second derivative  of the position  function  .....so...

s '' (t)  =  -2 cm/s

This indicates that the acceleration is constant at all times , t,  in the domain

cool cool cool
