Good morning everyone,

 

right now i really need help!i dont know how to make a pie chart!can anyone make a pie chart of this question that im writing below and also tell me how to make a pie chart!

 

In a survey 180 people were asked to state which brand of soap they prefer . The following table shows the outcomes:

 

   Brand:             Brand A     Brand B       Brand C     Brand D      Total

No. of people:       72                40             37             31             180 

 

Represent this information using a pie chart!

 

 

Editing done: sorry the last number of people was wrong so i just corrected it to 31

oh!thanks for that way but................ive learnt a slightly different way...

 

72/180 * 360º = 144º

 

And so we would do the same for all and then make the pie chart on the paper after finding all the degrees!

 

so ive used this way , we are taught!

I used Excel and in one column, I put brand names A,B,C,D, and the next column, # of people. Then, I selected the two cell columns and clicked insert --> Pie Chart

right now even i uderstood how to make a pie chart!just checked more properly in my book!

For a quick way of making it by hand -

Imagine a circle that is 100% filled. Then, take the the highest value and divide by 180. 

72/180 = 40%. So Imagine 40% of the circle filled. Do the same for the rest and you've got a hand-made pie chart!
