12.) Bobby fills a water tank at the rate of 0.12 mL in every minute. The tank had 1.08 mL before he

started filling the tank.

a. Determine the equation that represents the function.

b Graph the equation.

Note that the starting value is  1.08 ml

And every minute the tank increases by .12  ml

So......after one minute we have     .12(1)  + 1.08  = 1.2 ml

And after two minutes, we have   .12(2)  + 1.08  =  1.32 ml

etc.

So....let the height at some time = y

And the equation that models this is:

y = .12(t) + 1.08      where t is the time in minutes

Here's the graph.......https://www.desmos.com/calculator/gjtaxm5ow3

Haley.....hold down your mouse value and see the values at various times for t

At t =  0    y = 1.08

At t = 1   y = 1.20

The rest of these pretty much follow along the lines of 12

13.) Julia has been measuring the length of her baby’s hair. The first time it was 6 cm long and after one

month it was 2 cm longer.

a. If the hair continues to grow at this rate, determine the function that represents the hair growth.

b. Graph the equation.

Let y be the length after time t  and we have

y = 2t  + 6

at t = 0, y = 6

at t = 1, y = 8

etc.

Here's the equations and graphs for the rest of these:

14.    y = 35 + .10k     the amounts are in thousands  ..........https://www.desmos.com/calculator/w8kb2pds5q    . y= salesperson's income

15.  y = 30 +.15t     .......     https://www.desmos.com/calculator/14ndpgvn1j      y = total cellphone cost

16.  y = 25 - .5x    .....again, the amounts are in thousands......  https://www.desmos.com/calculator/ocoazmqoqv     y = total in bank account

17.  y = 350 + 150m ........https://www.desmos.com/calculator/bkbqzhlgiu   y = total in svings acct

18. y = 260 - 4m .........    https://www.desmos.com/calculator/9aodmmrfua     y = weight after m months

19.  y = 5 + 1.5d  .......   https://www.desmos.com/calculator/bzqcsj37qi    y = plant height

20.  y =  40000 + 300x  .........  https://www.desmos.com/calculator/43gpptaiaf    y = income
