you have a large water spout that puts water into a pool, and there is a hose that you could use to help fill the pool. you wander how long it is going to take to fill the pool because you have plans with friends and you need to leave by 6:15 PM. you decide to time the water flow of the spout as it fills a 5 gallon bucket. You find that the spout takes 4 seconds to fill the bucket. The pool needs 20,000 gallons of water. How long will it take to fill the pool with the water spout? It is now 2:00 PM ; will you be able to leave by 6:15 PM?

Time to fill the pool [ in seconds]  =  [20000 gal/5gal] * 4 sec  = 16000 sec  =

16000sec / [3600 sec/hr ]  = 4.4 hrs  = 4 hours 24 min

And 4 hrs 24 min afer 2:00PM  = 6:24 PM........

No......you won't be able to  leave......
