The slope of a line is -2 and its x-intercept is (5,0)  What is the y -intercept point of the line? Express your answer as an ordered pair.

We can write the equation of this line as

 

y = -2 (x - 5)

 

y = - 2x + 10         to find the y intercept....set x = 0

 

y = -2(0) + 10         

 

y = 10

 

So...the y intercept is    (0, 10 )
