1. Given that √2 is an irrational number, is 1 + √2 also irrational?

 

2. Given that π is an irrational number, is 2π also irrational?

1 and 2.....  adding a rational to an irrationall always results in an irrational...this makes sense....since an irrational can't be expressed as a fraction, there is no way of getting a common denominator!!!.....multiplying an irrational by a rational results in an irrational

 

3. The number of irrationals between 1 and 2 is infinite.......in fact.......the number of irrationals between any two irrationals is also infinite, no matter how close together the two irrationals are !!!!
