A manufacturer of tennis balls determines that the profit from the sale of x cans of tennis balls per week measured in hundreds is given by the function P(x) = 180x - 2x2, where P is measured in dollars. Determine the rate of change in profit when 300 cans of tennis balls are being sold.
I found the derivative of the function: P'(x) = -4x+180 And plugged in 300. Is that correct?
Good work!
Yes...... that is what I would do. $/(can/week) is the units (don't forget units in your math answers.....technically, w/out units your answer is incorrect!)
