This is a right triangle and you need to find the x-axis and y-axis intercepts

when y = 0    x -axis intercept becomes    2x + 0 = 8         x axis intercept = 4

  when x = 0   y -axis intercept is computed as   2(0) + y = 8         y -axis intercept = 8

so you have a right triangle with legs of 4 and 8    (these are the base and height of the triangle )

area = 1/2 b * h

         = 1/2 4 * 8 = 16 units2
