midpoint = ((x1 + x2) / 2, (y1 + y2) / 2) = (1, 3)

So the answer is 1

The distance of the point on the x-axis from the origin is x.

Then the following applies:

\(-x+2=\sqrt{x^2+6^2}\ |\ square \\ x^2-4x+4=x^2+36\\ -4x=32 \)

\(x=-8\)

The x-coordinate of the point on the x-axis is -8.
