how does one calculate cosine to the 5th power?

Example :

 

cos ( 60°)  =  1/2    so

 

[ cos (60° ] ^5  =   (1/2)^5   =  1/32

How do you type all those symbols Chris? The mejority of those I don't even know how to locate, and that doubles on not knowing what some of them mean, hopefully this web can help me with that!

MJ....when you're answering a question.....if you select the little "horseshoe" symbol to the left of the "smiley face" symbol......you will see a keypad with many different characters on it.....

 

I also use this to make some other special symbols :
