We have these points on the total cost graph (0, 100000)   and (1000, 200000).....the slope of this line =

[200000 - 100000] / [ 1000 - 0]  =    100000/1000   = 100

So....the equation  of the line can be found using the point-slope form :

y - 100000  = 100[x - 0]      simplify

y = 100x + 1000000

The y-axis is not in dollars, it is in 10^4 dollars. Look at the x10^4 in brackets after the word Dollars.

So the y- intercept  isn't \$10 it's \$10*10^4 or \$100000

Yes Alan, I know this, but the answer must be 100x , how did he find the answer 100000 + 100x
