The lengths of 2 similar rectangles are x^2 and xy, respectively. What is the ratio of these areas?

Instead of "lengths,"  do you mean "areas".....???   ....if so, we have......

 

Area  of first rectangle /  Area of second rectangle   =   x^2  / xy   =   x / y

Thanks for the help but... no my textbook actually said lengths not areas.... and I already figured out the answer on my own.
