Determine whether each of the following rational functions is even, odd, or neither.

 

 

If a function is symmetrical about the y axis is EVEN

If this is the case then   f(-x) = f(x) 

you will need to substitute -x for x and see if the function stays the same.

 

If a function has rotational symmetry of 180degrees about the origin then it is ODD

If this is the case then   f(-x) =- f(x) 

you will need to substitute -x for x and see if the original function is simply negated.

 

 

If neither of these are true then the function is neither.
