1. The tiller is a lever that controls the position of the rudder on a boat. When force is applied to the tiller, the boat will turn. Suppose the tiller on a certain boat is 0.75 meter in length and is currently resting in the xy‐plane at a 15° angle from the positive x‐axis. Find the magnitude of the torque that is developed about the axle of the tiller if 50 newtons of force is applied in a direction parallel to the positive y‐axis.

2. Given a force of 200 acting at an angle of 43˚, a force of 130 acting at an angle of 129˚, and a force of 175 acting at an angle of 161˚, what is the magnitude and direction of the resultant force?

Edit: I found out the tiller problem could be solved using the work formula, resulting in 36.22
