Dear Guest :
I have been vaccinated against CDD [ Congenital Dumba$$ Disease ] ....thus, "F'd Up " answers don't trouble me as they would most. However....if you can provide proof of your alcohol consumption - empty bottles, etc. - to either Melody or me within 14 days, we will kindly consider your request for 25 bonus points......
Sincerely,
Sir CPhill
The answer is that the limit of 0/0 in the negative directions trends to negative infinity, and in the positive direction trends to positive infinity
\(\lim_{x\rightarrow infinity } 0/0=+infinity\)
\(\lim_{x\rightarrow -infinity } 0/0=-infinity\)
You can't have a single answer because it depends wheter you aproch it from the negative or positive side
EDIT:
\(x = \lim_{x\rightarrow +0} \frac{1}{x}=+infinity\)
\(x = \lim_{x\rightarrow -0} \frac{1}{x}=-infinity\)
Thanks for all the answers! (even the mean ones)
I now realize this is not a actual answer to the question. But it still sheeds a bit of light on why you can't (thecnicaly) divide by cero in linear algebra.
Kudos to CPhill for giving the actual answer
Hi Morianner, welcome to the forum.
I am sorry to start you on a negative note but your answer makes no sense.
There is no x in your limit !
Maybe what you intended to show might make sense. But what you have shown makes no sense at all.
What function is that a graph of? It looks like xy=c Where c is a real positive number. ://
Why is it relevant?
Indeterminate.......to see why.......
a / b = c implies that bc = a
Then
0 / 0 implies that 0 times [something] = 0
But "something" could be "anything".....thus, 0 / 0 has no fixed value........
I just gave him the 5 points for becoming a member.......I'm feeling charitable....LOL!!!!!!
It should have been the eleventh commandment:
'Thou shalt not divide by zero'.
Well, if a moronic dumbshitt gets 5 points for joining and giving a fucked up answer, I should get at least 25 points for giving a good answer.
Melody should get 50 points for having to deal with the personification of stupid .... well, 25, anyway,
Moronic’s graph is 1/x
CPhill seems immune to personifications of stupid .... he should get 75 points. But only if he shares his immunizing recipe, otherwise -75. I use alcohol, but it doesn’t work very well. :/

Good evening Sir CPhill and estemed guest.
Tis a question I have also pondered. How comes it that Sir CPhil is so immune to CDD.
I think tis just thine kind nature that were endowed upon thee at birth.
But perhaps thee hath a secret, one that not even Her Majesty knows of.
Does The Realm's humble servan have such a immunizing recipe Sir CPhill?
Patented it should be if thine does.....
Her Royal Highness,
Supreme Sovereign of the Realm of Camelot,
Queen Guinevere.
Sorry, I am not a member so I can’t give points. After using the calculator, I decided to read some of the questions and answers. This is my second visit and that was my first post. I thought it would be deleted quickly, especially posting on your comments with both of you online. I didn’t expect you to have a sense of humor about it. It is really cool that you do. I reduced the points because the graph is y=1/x instead of xy=c, which is the same thing if c=1. I was just being consistent with the theme of the post.
CDD! This reminds me of my firm’s principal troubleshooter. He was always looking for a cure or a vaccine for CDD, although he called it Contagious Dumbness Disease. He would select anyone who f’d up as candidate for experimental trials. It was a joke, but he often acted as if it was serious.
I have a mostly empty bottle of vodka, a half-empty bottle of gin, and a partly empty bottle of bourbon. These are leftovers from the New Year’s Day party. I have been draining them but it may be a few weeks or so until they are empty. I probably can’t meet the deadline unless I run into more than the average amount of stupid. LOL I still have to give a good answer too.
