Determine an equation for the pictured graph. Write your answer in factored form and assume the leading coefficient is either 1 or -1.

It has a negative leading coefficient becaus on the right hand side it ends down not up.

The degree must be even because the left side is down too   

It is not a parabola so there is probably a triple root at x=0. 

This is not a technical explanation it is just one that I hope you can learn from.

 

\(y=-x^3(x+2)\)
