Do you mean how to find the square root of a number that is raised to an exponent?
Ex: sqrt(3^4)
Then, it would be 3 to the power of (4/2)
4 is the exponent, and 2 is because it is a square root.
So it would be 3^2, or 9

A square root is a power of 1/2

So sqrt(49) = 49^(1/2) or 49 ^ 0.5 = 7

sqrt(X) = X^1/2

That is why, in Kitty's example

sqrt(3^4) = sqrt ( 3 ⁴ ) => ( 3 ⁴ ) ^1/2 => 3 ^(4*1/2) => 3 ² => 9
