The area of a square = (s^2). All sides are equal.

 

You need to work backwards since they give you area = 25m squared.

 

Square root the area to get rid of the square.           

 

sqrt(25)= 5

 

The length of the edging = 5m

To continue the answer though, he's going to need 20m of edging because there are 4 sides to a square and he needed to replace the edging. 5*4=20
