First one......step B is incorrect because

a1   is   not    1

Instead, you should correct a1 to this:

a1  =  3(1)  - 1   =   2

The  sum is     (2 + 35) (12/2)   = 37 * 6    =  222

Second one

Step  C is incorrect   because  210  is  NOT  =  20

Correction   :   210  = 1024

The  sum  is

( 40)  ( 1 -1024)  / ( 1 - 2)    =   40920

Step C   is  incorrect      2(15)  is not  =  17

You should be able to take it  from there
