In the circle below, AB || CD and . AD is a diameter of the circle, and AD = 36. What is the number of inches in the length of AB? Express your answer in terms of pi. Could I solve this with using Trignometry?

18/sin 50 = x / sin 80

x = 18 sin 50  * sin 80  = 23.14035         But I had to use trig ,,,,,,,
