Find the perimeter of the following rectangle.

Well    the two short sides are equal     one is  2x+4    the other is 12

2x+4 = 12     means   x = 4

 

If x = 4    then the long side becomes   4x+1 = 4(4) + 1 = 17

 

then perimeter =     17   +   12   + 17  + 12 ====........
