Find the quotient and remainder when x^2+2  is divided by x-2.

I got x+2 + (6)/(x-2)

Is this the right/simplestanswer or is there another answer?

                 x  +2   R  6/(x-2)

x-2  | x2 + 0x +2

         x^2  -2x

                2x +2

                2x- 4

                      6

hi there!

im a bit confused because when you multiply x+2 and x-2 together, you get x^2 -4, and then when you add 6/(x-2), you get x^2-4+(6)/(x-2), buta ren't we supposed to get x^2+0x+2?
