A fish tank is 28 inches tall and has a base that is 17 inches by 21 inches. You want to fill the tank to a depth of 26 inches. How much water will it take?

The base will remain constant while the height changes, so therefore

let $d$ equal the depth of the water filled in the tank

$17*21*[d]$

take it from here
