what is -0.124 which is also a repeating decimal converted into a fraction ??

If you mean the 124 repeats forever i.e. 0.124124124124......, then treat it as follows:

 

        x = 0.124124124124.....     Multiply by 1000

1000x = 124.124124124......  

 

Subtract the first from the second:

999x = 124

 

Divide both sides by 999:

 

x = 124/999   so -0.124124124.....  =  -124/999

If ONLY 4 repeats .-124444444444........then the fraction is: -28/225

If ONLY 24 repeats.-.12424242424........then the fraction is:-41/330

If the whole number repeats, -.124124124124.....then the fraction is:-124/999.
