$$1\frac{4}{25}\times{2\frac{3}{20}}$$  First change them into impropper fractions

$$\frac{29}{25}\times\frac{43}{20}$$  Multiply the numerators and denominators

$$\left({\frac{{\mathtt{29}}}{{\mathtt{25}}}}\right){\mathtt{\,\times\,}}\left({\frac{{\mathtt{43}}}{{\mathtt{20}}}}\right) = {\frac{{\mathtt{1\,247}}}{{\mathtt{500}}}} = {\mathtt{2.494}}$$

1 16/100 + 2 15/100 = 31/100

you need to get 25 and 20 to the same denominator

like 100

so you x 4  to 4/25

and x 5 to 3/20

and you should get...

1 16/100 + 2 15/100 = 31/100

31/100

get both denominators to 100

x numerator and denominator with same no.
