x^2-16-x-4 = 0
x^2 - x - 20 = 0 -->
(x - 5)(x + 4) = 0 -->
x = 5, -4.
x^2-16/x-4 = 0
(x + 4)(x - 4) / (x - 4) = 0 -->
(x + 4) = 0 -->
x = -4.
x^2-16-x-4 = 0
x^2 - x - 20 = 0 -->
(x - 5)(x + 4) = 0 -->
x = 5, -4.
x^2-16/x-4 = 0
(x + 4)(x - 4) / (x - 4) = 0 -->
(x + 4) = 0 -->
x = -4.
Nataszaa....I think I can do the second one for you...
I think you have this:
(x^2 -16) / (x - 4) =
[(x + 4) (x - 4)] / (x - 4) =
(x + 4)
........we have to note that the restriction here is that x≠ 4 because it would make the denominator in the original function undefined.....!!!
I don't understand what the first one is.....maybe you could provide a little more info???
thank you CPhil! Usually, after i post these, they have to be done within a certain time frame...so i no longer need it. i do have new questions however.
thanks again!
If you tell people that their answers are wrong then you need to tell them the correct answer.
This way they can work out why the answers are different and it may help both of you in the future.
You do not use brackets properly and often ask questions that are different from what you intend!
