df/dx ≈ (f(9.01) - f(9))/(9.01 - 9)  = (3 - 3)/0.01  = 0

Can you explain how you got this answer? I'm super confused. We had done one in class that was easier because it was worded slightly different and I could just do y2-y1 over x2-x1. 

ex. f(2)=5 and f(2.005)=5.012. well you would just subtract 5.012-5 over 2.005-2 which gives you 2.4.

The problem I posted I was stuck staring at versus the one above.
