To find the terms of a geometric sequence you have to find the geometric formula which in this case is:

a = 3√2^n-1

 

Then you can start guessing and checking for "n" till you get 3072 

or..

You can substitute "a" 3072 and then solve 

 

I solved the answer by using the second method of substituting and got the answer 21
