Pythagorean Theorem: $$a^2+b^2=c^2$$

a and b are the legs of the triangle and c is the hypotenuse

Keep in mind that the Pythagorean Theorem only works on right triangles

Replacing a with 12 and c with 144 we get $$12^2 + b ^2 = 144^2$$

which becomes $$144+b^2 = 20736$$

Now we subtract 144 from 20736 and get $$b^2 = 20592$$

so $$b = \sqrt{20592}$$ which is about 143.499128...

Rounding that to the nearest tenth we get 143.5

So the answer is 143.5 inches

Correct me if im wrong!
