The radius of a right circular cylinder is decreased by 20% and its height is increased by 25%. What is the absolute value of the percent change in the volume of the cylinder?

Decreased by 20%=100%-20%=80%

Increased by 25%, 25/100*80=20, so 80+20=100%

Thus, there is no change, .\(0\%\)

V= Pi x r^2 x h

V =Pi x 1^2 x 1

V =Pi

V =Pi x  0.8^2 x 1.25

V =0.8Pi

1 - [0.8Pi/Pi] = 20% - absolute decrease in volume.
