The slash through the 'greater than or equal' sign means 'not (greater than or equal)' or, simplly, 'less than'.

 

Therefore, your inequality reduces to:  -x - 5  <  -1

Add 5 to both sides:                                    -x < 4

Divide both sides by -1:                                x > -4

(When you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number, change the direction of the inequality sign.)

 

Since the domain is the set of negative integers, the answers include -3, -2, and -1.

Place a filled-in circle on -3, on -2, and on -1.
