Assuming that you know the x and y coordinates of two points on the line ....the midpoint is given by :

Add  the x coordinates and divide by 2     =    x midpoint coordinate

Add the y coordinates and divide by  2  =  y midpoint coordinate

Example

(5, 6)   and  ( 7, 8)

Midpoint  =   [  ( 5 + 7) / 2  ,  (6 + 8) / 2 ]  =  [ 12/ 2,  14/2 ]    =  [ 6, 7 ]
