I came across a problem on one of my homeworks-- and it asked me to convert a fraction to base 3. I can give specific problems if necessary, but I don't really like cheating on important problems. So I will give an example:

Convert 1/(b-1) to base b.

This is where I'm stuck. Can someone please please explain how to do this to me? Thanks so much!

Using long division, you get 0.(b - 1) (b - 1) (b - 1) ...., where b - 1 is an actual digit in base b.

Thank you so so much! I missed my class and didn't know what to do.
