5.

y =  5/x      4 to the left....3  up   =

y  =  5 / (x + 4)  +  3     first answer

6.....the points of discontinuity  can be found by factoring the denominator

x^2  + 4x  -  5

(x + 5) (x - 1)

Setting each factor to 0  and so;ving for  x

x + 5  = 0                x - 1  = 0

x  = -5                      x  = 1        these are the discontinuities

7

   x - 5                         x - 5

__________   =       _________

x^2 +4x + 3              (x + 1) ( x + 3)

We can see that we will have discontinuities (asymptotes) at  x  = -1  and x  = -3

There will be no holes because no factors "cancel"
