At a zoo there are kangaroos, giraffes, and tigers. In total, there are 22 heads and 62 feet. If the number of giraffes is equal to the number of tigers, how many of each animal is at the zoo?

Hmmmmmm.....   is this perhaps 64 feet or something else ?

Since tigers and giraffes have the same number of feet and heads     g = t

62 feet =   2k  + 4 ( 2g )

22 heads =  k + g + g = 22 = k + 2g    <===== multiply by -2 and add to top equation to get

18 = 4 g
