What is 2x^3 + 7x^2 + 2x + 9 divided by 2x + 3?
Hello Guest!
\(\frac{2x^3+2x^2+2x+9}{2x+3}\color{blue}=x^2+2x+\frac{15}{2x+3}-2\) (WolfrahAlpha)

There are 2 obvious ways to tackle this.
1) You can do the algebraic division, which is really quite easy.
2) since it is multiple choice and all the remainders are different, you could just put
2x+3=0
so for this x= -3/2
Now sub x=-3/2 into the 2x^3+7x^2+2x+9 and you get the remainder that you need.
(This is remainder theorem)
