During 7 cold months, the house uses =7 x 200 = 1,400 gallons of oils

1400 + 200 gallons used in the remaining 5 months = 1,600 gallons in total for 1 year.

 

200 / 1,600 = 12 1/2 % of oil is used to heat the water.
