There are two different isosceles triangles whose side lengths are integers and whose areas are 120(sorry).One of these two triangles, has two sides with length 17 and one with length 30. Determine the perimeter of the second triangle.
Whose areas are what?
We have that
120 = (1/2) b*h
240 = b * h
b = 240/h
If h = 15, then b = 16 and (1/2)b = (1/2)(16) = 8
So....we have a right triangle with legs of 8 and 15
So....the side of this triangle = 17
So....the perimeter of this triangle is 17, 17, 16 = 50
