Hello dear Guest, did you know that this website has a calculator for solving such problem?
- Head over to the "Home" tab, type your equation and try to get the calculator to figure out z for ya!
Good luck, Mormert.
3z/10 + 4=-1
what is z???
Solve for z:
(3z)/10+4 = -1
Put each term in (3 z)/10+4 over the common denominator 10: (3 z)/10+4 = (3 z)/10+40/10:
(3 z)/10+40/10 = -1
(3 z)/10+40/10 = (3 z+40)/10:
(3 z+40)/10 = -1
Multiply both sides of (3 z+40)/10 = -1 by 10:
(10 (3 z+40))/10 = -10
(10 (3 z+40))/10 = 10/10×(3 z+40) = 3 z+40:
Answer: |
| 3z+40 = -10, z=- 50/3
Thanks Mormett, but you do not need to do all that.
\(\frac{3z}{10}+4=-1\)
Subtract 4 from bot hsides to get rid of the 'tacked on' 4
\(\frac{3z}{10}+4-4=-1-4\\ \frac{3z}{10}=-5\\\)
Now multiply both sides by 10
Then divide both sides by 3
Then you will have your answer :))
