What does -7/3n= -42 equal?

I'm sorry, I just suck at algebra.

Plus it's not cheating if I tried to solve it, and I can't seem to get the answer right. I even asked my family member for help and they couldn't help me at (neither did they try to help me).

PLEASE HELP!

Hi "Girl"!

What did you try? What kind of answers have you considered?

Oh, and btw, did you mean -7/(3n) = -42, or did you mean (-7/3)n = -42?

Either way, the trick is to multiply both sides with 3 to start with.
That should make the equation simpler.

"What does -7/3n= -42 equal?"

You want to keep only the n, so :

Multiply both sides by 3n. => -7= -42*3n = 7= -126n

Then devide both sides by -126. You will get n!

n= 7/-126

!

Hope this helps

Hi from Venezuela...!!
Input interpretation:
a) -7/(3n)= -42 ==> -7/(-42) = 3n ==> 7/(3*7*2) = 3n ==> n = 1/18 ◄
b) -(7/3)*n)= -42 ==> n = (3*42)/7 ==> n = (3*3*7*2)/7 ==> n = 18 ◄

Look for a number that goes into the top and the bottom and divide them both by that.
