2x+2y+4 is the simplified value but not the values of x and y if you need those I would be happy to help more if need be

I expect you mean   

what is (x + 2)^2 + (y + 1)^2

\((x + 2)^2 + (y + 1)^2\\ =x^2+4x+4\quad + \quad y^2+2y+1\\ =x^2+4x+y^2+2y+5\\ \)

Well I don't know what you mean, but I might see it as this: 2(x+2) + 2(y +1)

= 2x + 4 + 2y + 2

= 2x + 2y + 6
