Sasha spent 1/4 of her money on 18 pins and 4 keychains. The cost of 1 keychain is thrice as much as the cost of 1 pin. She bought some more keychains as much as the cost of 1 pin. She bought some more keychains with 1/2 of her remaking money. How many keychains did Sasha buy in all?

I have not done this question but this is how I would start.

Let the cost of a pin be p cents

Let the cost of a keychain by k cents

Let the entire amount of her money be  M cents

Now start setting up true equations.

See if you can do something with that.

I would set total money as X to start.

1/4X = 18p + 4k

k = 3p

 Comes out of first two sentence.

Now sub in k or p and work with the remaining problem. It should be easy now
