A farmer has decided to divide his land area in half in order to plant soy and corn. Calculate the area of the entire area so he knows how much soil is needed.
Each bag of soil covers 15 square yards. How many bags should the farmer purchase?
Here is the real one sorry!
Yah...now I can see it.....Here ya go:
NOW the area can be calculated as
the area of the RECTANGLE (6.5 x 6) + the area of the two small triangles 2* 1/2 (2.5*6)
6.5 * 6 + 2 * 1/2(2.5 * 6) = 54 sq yds
54 yd^2 / 15 yd^2/bag = 3.6 bags He will need 4 bags
I THINK this is what you are describing...to find the area, you will need the diameters A and B
A = sqrt( (9+2.5)^2 + 6^2) = 12.971 yd
Now to find B : 9^2 = (1/2(12.97))^2 + (1/2B)^2 results in B=12.48 yd
Area of field =1/2 A * B = 12.97 * 12.48 = 161.87/2= 80.94 sq yd
80.94 yd^2 / 15 yd^2/bag = 5.39 =~~6 bags required
Then I have not interpreted your description correctly......do you have a diagram???
Well all the question is is what I posted above can you see the picture not yours mine?
No....sorry.....I cannot see YOUR picture.....that is why I posted what I THOUGHT you were describing.....
Okay thats fine I will rety putting it on got any suggestions of how to put it on it is a coputer picture
