square both sides
x^2 + 2x+1 = \(\sqrt[2]{x^4+4x^3-x}\) square both sides again
x^4 + 4x^3 + 6x^2 + 4x +1 = x^4 + 4x^3 - x
6x^2 + 5x + 1 = 0
quadratic formula shows x = -1/3 and -1/2
