The ratio of the number of cars to the number of vans to the number of

mortorbikes at a car park is 5:2:3. Each car and each van had 4 wheels. Each 

motorbike has 2 wheels.

a)       If there is a total of 816 wheels, find the number of vans at the car park.

b)       If the cars had a total of 224 more wheels than the motorbikes, find the

          number of cars.

C:V:M = 5:2:3

 

5x + 2x + 1/2(3x) = 816

 

x = 96
