1. Consider a particle following the parametric equations

                                                                                                           $x = 2t+1$, $ y = 3t+2$
as well as points $P_1$, $P_2, P_3,$ and $P_4$ :

Say that our particle is at $P_1$ at time $t_1$, our particle is at $P_2$ at time $t_2$ , our particle is at $P_3$ at time $t_3$ , and our particle is at $P_4$ at time $t_4$ . Enter times $t_1, t_2, t_3$, and $t_4$ in that order.

2. Consider a particle following the parametric equations

                                                                                                        $x = 2t+1$

                                                                                                        $y = 3t+2$
What is the speed of this particle? (You may assume it's constant at all times.)

1)  P1 = 1,2        x = 1    y = 2            1 = 2t+1   so    t = 0        as a check: y = 2 = 3(0)+2 = 2     CHECK !

you should be able to calculate P2 P3 and P4 in th same manner

Can I get help on the second question too?

Speed of x   = 2

Speed of y = 3

Pythag theorem     total speed = sqrt ( 2^2 + 3^2 ) = sqrt 13
